What is a pyramid scheme?

What is a pyramid scheme?
Pyramid schemes are illegal scams in which large numbers of people at the bottom of the pyramid pay money to a few people at the top. Each new participant pays for the chance to advance to the top and profit from payments of others who might join later. For example, to join, you might have to pay anywhere from a small investment to thousands of dollars. In this example, $1,000 buys a position in one of the boxes on the bottom level. $500 of your money goes to the person in the box directly above you, and the other $500 goes to the person at the top of the pyramid, the promoter. If all the boxes on the chart fill up with participants, the promoter will collect $16,000, and you and the others on the bottom level will each be $1,000 poorer. When the promoter has been paid off, his box is removed and the second level becomes the top or payoff level. Only then do the two people on the second level begin to profit. To pay off these two, 32 empty boxes are added at the bottom, and the search for new participants continues.

Each time a level rises to the top, a new level must be added to the bottom, each one twice as large as the one before. If enough new participants join, you and the other 15 players in your level may make it to the top. However, in order for you to collect your payoffs, 512 people would have to be recruited, half of them losing $1,000 each.

Of course, the pyramid may collapse long before you reach the top. In order for everyone in a pyramid scheme to profit, there would have to be a never-ending supply of new participants.

In reality, however, the supply of participants is limited, and each new level of participants has less chance of recruiting others and a greater chance of losing money.

Things you should know about pyramid schemes

They are losers. Pyramiding is based on simple mathematics: many losers pay a few winners.
They are fraudulent. Participants in a pyramid scheme are, consciously or unconsciously, deceiving those they recruit. Few would pay to join if the diminishing odds were explained to them.
They are illegal. There is a real risk that a pyramid operation will be closed down by law enforcement officials and the participants subject to fines and possible arrest.
Why would anyone pay to join a pyramid scheme?
Pyramid promoters are masters of group psychology. At recruiting meetings they create a frenzied, enthusiastic atmosphere where group pressure and promises of easy money play upon people's greed and fear of missing a good deal. Thoughtful consideration and questioning are discouraged. It is difficult to resist this kind of appeal unless you recognize that the scheme is rigged against you.

Some pyramid promoters try to make their schemes look like multilevel marketing methods. Multilevel marketing is a lawful and legitimate business method which uses a network of independent distributors to sell consumer products.

To look like a multilevel marketing company, a pyramid scheme takes on a line of products and claims to be in the business of selling them to consumers. However, little or no effort is made to actually market the products. Instead, money is made in typical pyramid fashion, from recruiting. New distributors are pushed to purchase large and costly amounts of inventory when they sign up.

For example, you might have to purchase $1,000 of nearly worthless products in order to become a "distributor." The person who recruited you receives $500 (a fifty percent commission) and $500 goes to the top (the company, in this case). Notice the similarity to the simple pyramid scheme described earlier.

Most disguised pyramids, however, are not this easy to unmask. Pyramid schemes often choose products which are cheap to produce but which have no established market value, such as new miracle products, exotic cures, etc. This makes it difficult to tell whether there is a real consumer market for the products. The best way to avoid a disguised pyramid fraud is to know what to look for in a legitimate income opportunity.

How do I optimize my website for the search engines?
The most important thing I can tell you here is be honest. Don't try all the Black Hat tricks you will read about on other websites. You will probably get high in the rankings for a week or two but in the long run, you will lose everything you worked so hard to achieve. Once you get black listed for cheating, you will have a very hard time ever redeeming yourself. It's not hard to do it right. It actually requires just about the same amount of work. The difference is, do it right and you will be making money for years. Do it wrong and, well.... see ya!

Ethical Search Engine Optimization is KEY to website longevity!
By the way, those people out there that are trying to convince you that unethical search engine optimization tactics are OK and you will never get caught? They have one of two motives in mind. They either want you to give them your money while they deliver their promise to get you ranked high or they are trying to sabotage your website so they have less competition. Either way, it won't work for long. They can easily get you ranked high long enough to cash your check. After that you are gone for good.

OK, enough about that. Let's get on with the ethical SEO.
It might be easier to print this page so you don't have to keep jumping back and forth.

The first thing you want to do is open up a page on your editor. Read the page to see what words are used most often. These are your KEYWORDS. Make a list of 5 - 10 keywords. Note: These are not your keywords for your entire website. You will have to do this same process for every page you want indexed in the search engines.

Go to Good Key Words and download this free program.

Once you have it downloaded, open it up and select Keyword Suggestions. Type one of the words from your list into the base keyword spot and hit GO. Wait about 30 seconds and you will see a list of related keywords and phrases. Don't pick the first word or phrase that is on the list this word has too much competition and you aren't ready for that yet.

Go about half way down the list and pick two keywords or phrases that will match several of your keywords for that page. Write them down. (At this point, you can do this same process for the rest of your pages or work on one at a time. It's all going to get done eventually, you do it the way you feel is most efficient.)

Sometimes you will find several of the same keywords will work for many pages. You will want to find independent words or phrases for each page. This will take longer but it will pay off in the end.

(Here is another free program to help with your keyword search. Keyword Spider comes with it's own learning video. In about 5 minutes you will know everything there is to know about it's use. Watch the video available on the download page.)

If your website is about computers and your keyword phrases for your main page are computer parts and computer services, you will have no choice but to duplicate these phrases on your parts or services page. This is fine but you will want each pages keywords to be as unique to the page as possible. Your phrases for the service page, for example, might then be online computer services and internet computer services.

Note: If you are wanting to use the keywords that are on the top of the list, consider this. Do a search on Google for my top keyword "computer". How many pages show up? This is my competition. Now try "computer services". How many pages? It is easier to compete with these smaller numbers.

If you have a real refined topic to begin with, your competition may not be as overwhelming as the general topic "computers". Do the Google test on your choices to see what you come up with.

Once you have your keywords and/or phrases picked out for your page, what do you do with them? The first thing you will want to do is put them in your meta tags.

If you used one of my sample pages to get started, you already have the start of your meta tags pre-inserted. If you didn't use one of these pages you will have to contact me at my website as this blog will not let me use any html code.

Brad Callen suggests using the | rather than the word and in the above title. This looks more professional and the word "and" would never be a searched word anyway. This character is located on the keyboard directly above the "enter key".

You will have the opportunity to get Brad's free guide on search engine optimization later in this program. Another thing to read right now will just confuse you so you can do that later. Remember, step by step.

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work

Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my

.....Wouldn't it be nice to make a bundle of money quickly, with minimal effort, working at home in your pajamas? Of course it would. I for one would love to have money flowing into my bank account, working only a few hours a week from home, so I'd have more time to spend with my kids and my wife, without any boss looking over my shoulder.
Whether its real estate investing, selling by classified ads, stock market investing, internet affiliate marketing, or something else, we've all seen the fantastic claims people make about making tons of money, AND how they can show you how to do the same thing. I can tell you right now that 99% of these people are total frauds. You may have even fallen prey to one of these scam artists, selling you their latest "get rich quick" program. Me too. I've bought so many of these programs that I can't even recall how many. I don't know why, but I tend to find the "good” in people, and I was "sold " by these marketing schemes time and time again, even after being scammed by another. Finally, after so many disappointments, I got FED UP. I decided to get to the bottom of this fascination we all have with get rich quick programs, and find out if there really were any LEGITIMATE programs for making money.
I literally contacted the administrator of every get rich quick website I could find. Posing as an investor, I managed to convince the owners that I was seriously interested in purchasing their entire website and business. That way, once the dollar signs flashed in their heads, they would give me free access to their member's areas to review what I would be "buying”. Well, I was disgusted with 99% of what I found. Many of the owners actually boasted about how many people bought their useless programs. I repeatedly found:
. Outdated information. non working links . links leading to other sites that asked for more money. no help section. no real email support. No refunds.
I quickly realized that these so-called Get Rich Quick programs were totally useless. And the owners knew it, yet they were laughing all the way to the bank! Needless to say, I didn't respond when they asked if I was still interested in buying their websites. Surprisingly, while sifting through all of the scam artist's websites, I was able to locate a couple of individuals that actually ran legitimate programs.
The owners were every day people like you and me that found a way to make extra money working from home on their computers. Their membership areas were impressive, with a good amount of quality information on how to make $100-$200 per day on your computer doing very little work. I even chatted with a few of their customers in several online forums, and they verified that they were making extra money through the sites. It was like I found a few diamonds in the rough. But don't take my word for it. You can visit the sites I found below. See what you think.
They do charge a minimal fee for access to their program, which is to be expected for any legitimate company that actually has people on staff who are dedicated to help you get started. What a friendly group of people! Anyway, if you do decide you are interested in their programs below, I advise you to join quickly, as the owners have informed me that they are getting so many new members by word of mouth referrals that they will be closing off membership completely in the next 7 days. (By the way, you didn't hear this from me!) They don't have large enough staff to accommodate many more people, and they are dedicated to providing excellent service to each person. Well, my search for legitimate Get Rich Quick programs has come to an end. I have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with most of what I found, and I strongly advise that you do not take chances joining any programs other than the one's listed below!
